With the lovely playoff run that the Minnesota Vikings had this past season, I became a much bigger football fan than I’ve ever been before. And left me totally in lurve with Minnesota Vikings roster man Percy Harvin. Like, totally. But Mr. Harvin wasn’t always a Vikings starting kicker. His roots were much…sunnier.
♥ Percy Harvin was bron on May 28th, 1988 – which makes him just a young chap at 21 years old. He’s originally from Virginia Beach, so moving to the frozen tundra must’ve been a bit of a shock for this beach boy.
♥ His high school sports career is littered with records and awards, and is ranked as one of the greatest high school athletes to have roots in the area. Such a great athlete that he received scholarship offers from the University of Florida, Florida State, University of Miami, University of Michigan and USC. Wowza.
♥ Ultimately he ended up playing for the Florida Gators football roster. During the 2009 BCS National Championship game, he totaled 35 receptions for 595 yards and 7 touchdowns. Them is some intense numbers, peeps. Now I just wish I knew what they meant… I kid, I kid.
♥ He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and debuted this past year – winning the Offensive Rookie fo the Year Award and being selected for the NFL Pro Bowl. Mighty accomplishments for a newbie – and he plays for the Minnesota Vikings roster! I can’t wait to see what kind of tricks he turns next season!
