Important hockey facts about this week:
1. The Minnesota Wild schedule brings the Detroit Red Wings to the Xcel Energy Center twice in the next seven days. They’ll be playing tonight and next Wednesday. So get down here in your RED and GREEN apparel and cheer for the hometown team. Even this fashionista threw on a jersey today.
2. This Saturday is HOCKEY DAY MINNESOTA! What you should hit up on the Hockey Day Schedule: Check out head coach Todd Richard’s at his son’s hockey game – see five year old Josh Sacoo give the Herb Brooks pre-miracle-game-speech – check out the awesome high school tournament in Hermantown – catch the Minnesota Wild roster in action when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at 8 PM.
3. The POND HOCKEY TOURNAMENT is happening on Lake Nokomis on Friday and Saturday. Followed by a pub crawl. That the roomie will be serving Bud there. And I will more than likely be in attendance, lumberjack wear and all…pond hockey, bailey’s and coffee and hot local hockey boys? Yes, please.
4. Again, the Minnesota Wild take on the Brent Burns will be back on the ice tonight after recovering from his concussion, and Josh Harding will be making his at home season debut at the game. LET’S GO WILD!

A lot of the games got canceled this weekend because of standing water on the rinks – we still had a good time Friday, though.
I heard that – my roommate does Bud promos sometimes and everyone was pretty sad that they had to cancel. And usually it’s the cold weather that everyone is worried about for this tourny!
